Mocha & Java coffee is sometimes confused with chocolate flavored coffee due to a similar name. It is not a flavored chocolate brew. Mocha is a port city on the Red Sea coast of Yemen, and the majority of Europe’s coffee came from the Port of Mocha between the 15th and 18th century. Java is an island of Indonesia with coffee being the major export in the 18th century.
Sailors that frequently traveled between the Port of Mocha in Yemen and the Indonesian island of Java were the first to blend the two. African beans have a unique taste and higher in acidity. Indonesian beans have low acidity and strong bodies due to the volcanic soil. The two beans brilliantly complement each other in the correct ratio and roasts.
